Hazmat Training Made Easier
Signal Person & Crane Operations
- The recognized standard for Ground Disturbance Training has been established in the province of Alberta by the Alberta Common Ground Alliance (ABCGA) Training Standards Committee. The standards are known as Standard.101 Ground Disturbance - Hazard Awareness and Standard.201 Ground Disturbance - Supervisory. Training providers that submit their programs for approval must meet the requirements as set out by ABCGA. Once approved these training companies are listed on ABCGA'S web site as company's who meet the requirements to deliver Ground Disturbance training to their clients. ABCGA membership includes representatives of most major oil and gas producers, municipalities, utility companies, line locators, seismic, road builders association, pipeline, Alberta One Call, National Energy Board, and Alberta Construction Safety Association, just to name a few. Check ABCGA web site for the complete membership list. We are still receiving calls saying that there is only one approved training program in the industry, which is not true. To date there are five approved training providers. These are ASTEC Safety Inc., Global Training Centre, Learn-Rite Courses Inc., Alberta Construction Safety Association, and Wheels On Ltd. Please go to the ABCGA website (www.albertacga.ca) or ASTEC Safety and click on links for more information on Ground Disturbance in Alberta.
